So, Damion and I were thinking about hitting up a My Chemical Romance show.  Now, I know they are such a mainstream, preteen band, but we like them.  So sue us, they’re songs are catchy.  Fuck you.

ANYWAY, I go to look at what it’s going to set us back since I know the tickets won’t be as cheap as going to Red 7 or Elysium any given night.  $42 after service fees!!!  This is at STUBBS ON A MONDAY NIGHT.  WTF???  So we’re not seeing MCR in April.   Out of curiosity I look at the other prices of concerts by other bands, some not nearly as popular as MCR.  They’re maayyyybe $10 cheaper.  What the fuck is going on with concert prices??  It’s not even for summer dates!

Damion suggested maybe it’s because of gas prices and their tour buses.  Well, ok, but what makes them think people can afford it on the public end if they have to pay for higher gas prices too?

Yeah, the thing is…. people are going to pay the $42.  It’s not ever going to get better.  Bands will bitch, people will pay, and the poor get poorer.

I’m pretty sure this is how the whole punk movement started.  That makes me want to buy a house with a basement and have people play and come enjoy music for free.  That would be so kick ass.  Let me know if you want in on it.
